A contemporary home wanted a flush black full-view aluminum and glass door to match its architecture. We installed it with correctly sized springs for the heavier panel.

This contemporary home in The Ridges had a dated raised-panel door that clashed with the clean modern lines of the house. The owners wanted the look you see across our gallery: a flush, full-view aluminum frame with tinted glass.

Full-view glass doors are beautiful but heavy, far heavier than a basic steel door, so the single most important part of the job is sizing the springs to the real weight. A gorgeous door on undersized springs fails fast and strains the opener. We measured carefully and installed high-cycle springs matched to the panel.

We installed the new tracks, door, and weather seal, reprogrammed the existing opener to the new travel, and tuned the door for quiet operation. The result transformed the front of the home, and it runs as smoothly as it looks.
