Garage door spring replacement cost in Las Vegas

Here is what a garage door spring replacement actually costs in the Las Vegas Valley, line by line, with parts and labor shown separately and nothing held back until somebody is standing in your driveway.

A standard pair of torsion springs costs $295 to $425 installed in Las Vegas, parts plus labor. High-cycle springs rated 25,000 to 30,000 cycles run $395 to $525 for the pair, and a single torsion spring is $185 to $265.

Key takeaways
  • Standard torsion pair: $295 to $425 installed, made up of $75 to $125 in parts and $220 to $300 in labor.
  • High-cycle pair, 25,000 to 30,000 cycles: $395 to $525 installed, and usually the better buy on a door you open several times a day.
  • Springs are replaced in pairs. A single new spring next to a tired one carries the whole load.
  • No charge for the diagnosis, even if you decide not to go ahead, and the flat price is written down before any work starts.
  • No surcharge on evenings or weekends. After 9 pm and on holidays there is a $95 surcharge, said on the phone before we come.

How much garage door spring replacement costs in Las Vegas

A standard torsion spring pair is $295 to $425 installed and a high-cycle pair is $395 to $525 installed. Those numbers include the springs, the labor, and balancing and safety-testing the door before we leave.

These numbers come straight from our Las Vegas price list. They are not estimates typed for this article. The installed price is what you pay. The parts and labor columns show how that number is built, which is the part most companies will not put in writing.

Why there is a range, and what moves your price inside it

Four things move a spring job inside that range. The first is door weight, because a 16 ft insulated double needs heavier springs than a single non-insulated door. The second is the spring type, torsion above the door or extension springs along the tracks. The third is the cycle rating you choose. The fourth is what the technician finds once the door is unloaded and the tension is off.

That last one is where surprise bills come from in this trade. If the bearing plates are worn or the torsion tube is scored, replacing the springs without them puts you back in the same spot within a year. We price those as their own lines, on the table above, so you see the add before you agree to it instead of after.

Standard springs or high-cycle springs

A torsion spring is rated in open and close cycles, not in years. A common builder-grade spring is rated for 10,000 cycles. A door that goes up and down four times a day uses about 1,460 cycles a year, so 10,000 cycles works out to roughly seven years of normal use. Las Vegas heat and dust shorten that.

High-cycle springs rated 25,000 to 30,000 cycles cost about $100 more for the pair and carry two and a half to three times the cycle rating. On the door your family uses as the real front door, that is the cheaper number over the life of the door. On a third bay you open twice a month it is not worth it, and we will say so.

What the cheap spring ads leave out

You will see $49 and $69 spring specials around the valley. That number is almost never the price of the job. It buys the trip, and the real quote arrives once somebody is standing in your garage and your car is shut inside. We do not run that play. The flat price is written down first, and it is the number you pay.

Why springs fail faster here than in other cities

Valley summers swing the garage through a wide temperature range every single day, and that repeated heating and cooling fatigues spring steel. Fine desert dust works into the coils and the bearings and adds friction to every cycle. We wrote up the whole pattern in why garage door springs break so often in Las Vegas, including the two things that genuinely extend spring life here.

What if the springs are not the real problem

A door that will not lift is not always a spring. Snapped cables, a stripped opener gear and a door off its track all look the same from the driveway. The diagnosis costs nothing either way, so you are not paying to find out. If it turns out to be something else, you get a flat written price for that instead. Related questions

What is included in the price you quote for a spring replacement?

The installed price covers the new springs, the labor, and balancing and safety-testing the door before we leave. Parts are new, not reconditioned, and pair prices are for one door. Anything else the door needs, such as bearing plates or a torsion tube, is its own line on the price list and is quoted before we do it.

Are high-cycle springs worth the extra cost in Las Vegas?

On a door your family uses every day, yes. High-cycle springs run about $100 more for the pair and carry two and a half to three times the cycle rating of a builder-grade spring. On a third bay you rarely open, standard springs are the sensible choice.

Do you charge extra for evenings or weekends?

No. Evenings and weekends are the same price as a weekday appointment. After 9 pm and on holidays there is a $95 surcharge, and we tell you that on the phone before we come out.

Does the price change if I have a 16 foot double door?

Not by width alone. The pair prices cover standard residential doors at 7 ft and 8 ft heights, and a 16x7 double is a standard height. Weight is what changes the price, so an insulated or custom double takes heavier springs. Taller and oversized doors are quoted in writing.

What if the springs turn out not to be what broke?

You pay nothing for the diagnosis. We tell you what actually failed, give you a flat written price for that repair, and you decide. Cables, opener gears and off-track doors all look like a broken spring from the driveway.
