Same-day spring rescue in Summerlin

Same-day spring rescue in Summerlin

A homeowner in The Vistas heard a bang and found the car trapped. We replaced both torsion springs the same afternoon and upgraded to 25,000-cycle springs.

The call came in just after noon: a loud bang from the garage, and now the door would not budge with the car stuck inside. Classic broken torsion spring. The homeowner had tried the opener a few times, which we always warn against, but luckily the motor had not burned out.

On arrival we confirmed one spring had snapped clean, with the telltale two-inch gap in the coil. The second spring was the same age and stretched thin, so leaving it would have meant a repeat call within weeks. We replaced both in a pair and, because this door gets heavy daily use, upgraded to 25,000-cycle springs for a small additional cost.

After winding to the correct tension we rebalanced the door, lubricated the new springs, and tested the safety reverse. The door now runs quiet and the homeowner is unlikely to face another spring failure for many years. Total time on site: about 75 minutes.
